Our Pool Building Process
Ten clear steps from your first call to your first swim โ so you always know what is happening and what comes next.
How We Build Your Pool
Every project is different, but the path from idea to finished backyard follows a proven sequence. Our team manages every stage, and we keep you informed as each phase is completed and inspected.
Free Consultation
We meet at your home to walk the yard, take measurements and listen. We talk about how you want to use the space, the style you like, features on your wish list and the budget range you are comfortable with. We also look at access, slope, trees, utilities and drainage โ the site factors that shape the design.
3D Design & Proposal
We create a 3D design of your pool and backyard so you can see the layout, depths, spa, decking and features in context with your home. We refine the design together, then provide a detailed written proposal that spells out the scope, materials and equipment.
Engineering & Permits
Once the design is approved, we prepare construction plans and submit them for permitting with your city. If you live in an HOA community, we help you put together what the architectural committee needs. We also arrange utility locates before any digging begins.
Layout & Excavation
We paint the pool's outline on the ground so you can see the exact size and position one more time. Then excavation begins. Depending on the design and the soil, the pool shell is usually dug in a short period, and excess soil is hauled away.
Steel & Plumbing
A grid of steel rebar is shaped to follow every curve, step and bench of your pool, forming its structural skeleton. Plumbing lines for the skimmers, main drains, returns, spa jets and water features are installed and pressure-tested, and electrical work is coordinated for equipment and lighting.
Gunite Shell
High-strength concrete (gunite) is pneumatically sprayed over the steel and hand-shaped into the final form of your pool and spa. The shell is then kept moist and allowed to cure, which is key to building strength.
Tile & Coping
Waterline tile and coping are installed around the edge of the pool. This is where the design really starts to come to life โ clean coping lines and well-set tile are among the details people notice first.
Decking & Hardscape
Pool decking, pavers, walkways and any outdoor living elements are built around the pool. We plan slopes and drainage carefully so water flows away from the pool and your home.
Interior Finish
The interior surface โ plaster, quartz or pebble aggregate โ is applied, and the pool is filled with water. The finish you choose sets the final water color, from bright Caribbean blue to deep lagoon tones.
Startup & Handover
We start up the equipment, balance the water chemistry during the critical first weeks and make sure every system is running correctly. Then we walk you through operating your pool, spa and automation, and answer every question before handing over the keys to your new backyard.
What to Expect While We Build
Building a pool involves heavy equipment, deliveries and several specialized crews. We plan access to your backyard in advance, discuss where materials will be staged and let you know which phases are the loudest or busiest.
You will receive regular updates as each phase is finished, and you can reach your project contact directly with any question. If something unexpected comes up โ rock during excavation, for example โ we explain it, show you the options and agree on next steps together.
- One dedicated point of contact
- Updates at every phase
- City inspections scheduled at the required stages
- Clean-up and final walkthrough before handover
